We develop with a focus on sustainability

As a manufacturing company, the well-being of people, nature and the environment has always been a fundamental concern for us. That is why we continuously invest in sustainable technologies and environmentally friendly energy generation – to protect our natural resources and the region as well as the well-being of people.

In order to improve our carbon footprint and minimise all emissions, we consistently invest in new production methods and state-of-the-art technology. This enables MÖVE Professional to ensure efficient, energy-saving and increasingly sustainable production.

PROCESS OPTIMISATION

The process optimisation of our machinery to reduce energy and water consumption is ensured by an annual quality, environmental and energy programme carried out by TÜV Rheinland; all environmental emissions from production are closely monitored and controlled and further reduced wherever technologically possible.

RENEWABLE ENERGIES

With the help of our own combined heat and power plant and our photovoltaic solar system, we generate a third of the electrical energy we need ourselves; for the needs of our weaving mill, the figure is even 100%.

REDUCING RESIDUAL WASTE

We conscientiously separate our waste and feed it into the recycling cycle via a certified company. Textile remnants from production are reused, for example, as efficient insulating materials in the automotive industry or in the construction sector.

We are aware of our special responsibility towards people, nature and the environment. We therefore invest in and promote sustainability with a view to preserving our immediate surroundings – the beautiful Upper Lusatia regio.

CAREFUL USE OF WATER

The naturally soft water from our own well used for production does not require the addition of chemicals for water softening; the rinsing water is reused several times. At the same time, we save valuable and expensively treated drinking water by using our own resources.

UPCYCLING

We use leftovers from production to support upcycling projects at universities. This results, for example, in attractive design objects that are even biodegradable. In 2015, Katrin Krupka was awarded the Brandenburg Design Prize for ‘recreate textiles’

REFORESTATION

We have been committed to regional reforestation for several years. In 2024, for example, we planted almost 40,000 trees for a reforestation project in North Rhine-Westphalia. The landscape and EU bird sanctuary was hit hard by hurricanes in 1990 and 2007 and is also suffering from increasingly severe drought. By replanting 26 different tree species, nature should be better able to withstand the future challenges of climate change.

Responsibility for the natural resources of our planet

In addition to these measures, our fully integrated production site in Germany offers short and therefore environmentally friendly transport routes.
